Effective leaders will use goal setting as team motivation or directional game changers for organizational goal attainment. Goal setting as an activity seems relatively straightforward. However, goal attainment is a little more challenging.
Here are three common mistakes.
1. Goals are created without a realistic timeline and/or miss carrying out action items.
2. Priority goals are not identified. To overcome this, use your big picture as a guideline.
3. Intentionally scheduled time has not been mapped out. Goals will remain in an ideal state if they are not worked on.
