Social Media Saturation – What can you do?
Isn’t it awesome we can market and promote to massive audiences on a global scale for FREE? The revelation of social media has certainly catapulted many start-ups with the comfort that they can (at the very least) afford some form of marketing. Over time, this marketing initiative is becoming increasingly saturated. In order to continue to use it as a successful marketing tool, you need to be innovative in your approach. Below are three suggestions:
Consider using Social Media as more of a Customer Relationship Management system.
Take your networking and social skills to the next level in the digital world. As you communicate with your network, try to remember pertinent information being shared so you can connect with them on a deeper level. Monitor, react and talk to them about their likes and dislikes. Make it about them. As your network grows you will need to consider a platform for gathering the data as a reference for future conversations.Get to know your network’s needs, wants, preferences, likes and dislikes.
Refrain from simply sending promotions and sales. This is a waste of time and will eventually irritate prospective customers. Figure out ways to make your communications professional but personal. Connect with your audience. Spent time talking (chatting) with them rather than selling your idea or product. Consider sending out a survey, poll or questionnaire that is conversational as opposed to promotional.Use more than one form of stimulus
A large number of social media audiences are already living in the millennial mindset. Simple text will be missed. Grasp your audience’s attention. Use a striking picture, a SHORT video, a SHORT interview, a mascot. Has anyone notice CIBC’s new penguin mascot? Whether you like Telus or not, do you like the baby animals they use in their commercials?Just like a husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend or best friend, a successful relationship is built on trust and loyalty. The trick in business is to master building these relationships and connections with your customers both professionally and genuinely. Social media is an incredible tool if you use it to strengthen the connections and relationships with your target markets. Trust me with the trust and loyalty of your customers, your business will prosper.
